How a Candle Company Became a Nonprofit

People are sometimes confused when they find out we're a 501(c)(3). "Wait, you sell candles... but you're a charity?"
Yeah, it's a little unusual.
How it works
We make and sell candles like any other small business. We pay for wax, wicks, jars, shipping, the website. Normal stuff.
The difference is what happens with the profit. Instead of it going to owners or investors, it goes to ALS patients and research. All of it.
Why ALS
ALS is brutal. Most people live 2-5 years after diagnosis. There's no cure. And the costs—wheelchairs, home modifications, caregiving—add up fast.
We wanted to help with that. Candles happened to be something we could make well, so here we are.
What your purchase actually does
When you buy a candle, you're helping cover wheelchairs, home modifications, or research grants. We post updates on our impact page so you can see where it goes.
It's not complicated. You get a candle you'll actually use, and something good happens because of it.
