Products
What are your candles made of?
All of our candles are made with pure soy wax. We use cotton wicks (free from lead and zinc) and high-quality candle fragrances or essential oils. Our candles are free from parabens, phthalates, and dyes.
Are your candles vegan?
Yes! All of our candle products are 100% vegan. We use only plant-based soy wax and never test on animals.
Are your candles safe for pets?
We currently offer a special pet-safe candle, "Home Is Where The Dog Is." We recommend keeping candles out of reach of pets and ensuring proper ventilation when burning.
What sizes do your candles come in?
We offer 14oz candles (approximately 80 hours burn time) and 8oz candles (approximately 30-50 hours burn time). We also have 2.75oz wax melts for use with warmers.
Why does each candle look slightly different?
Due to the natural purity of soy wax, each candle is slightly different in look and texture. This is completely normal and a sign of the natural, hand-poured quality of our products.
Candle Care
How do I get the best burn from my candle?
For the best burn, trim your wick to 1/4 inch before each use. On the first burn, let the wax melt all the way to the edges to prevent tunneling. This usually takes 2-3 hours for our larger candles.
How long should I burn my candle?
We recommend burning your candle for 2-4 hours at a time. Never burn for more than 4 hours continuously, and always keep the candle within sight while lit.
Can I reuse the candle jar?
Absolutely! Our glass jars are perfect for repurposing. Once the candle is finished, clean out any remaining wax with warm water and use the jar to store small items, as a planter, or for decoration.

Where do you ship from?
All orders ship from Los Angeles, CA.
How long does shipping take?
Orders typically ship within 1-3 business days. Shipping is a flat rate of $8, or free on orders over $75. Delivery takes 5-7 business days.
Do you offer gift wrapping?
Yes! You can add gift wrapping with a ribbon for just $2 at checkout. We can also include a handwritten note with your order.
Can I include a gift message?
Yes! We love adding personal touches. Leave a note at checkout and we'll include a handwritten message with your order.
About Us
Where do my purchase proceeds go?
100% of our profits are donated to benefit ALS patients and ALS research. Santa Monica Candle Co. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Why did you start Santa Monica Candle Co.?
We started after our family was affected by ALS. We wanted to use something beautiful and inspiring—handmade candles—to bring awareness and raise funds for this devastating disease.
How can I learn more about ALS?
The ALS Association (als.org) is a great resource for learning about ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. They provide information about the disease, support for patients and families, and fund critical research.
